About

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), comprising Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, has a rising global prevalence, and poses significant challenges to healthcare systems. The concept of remission has evolved to become a central goal in IBD management, with a notable shift from controlling symptoms to achieving more comprehensive disease control. The concept of remission encompasses multiple dimensions, including clinical, endoscopic, and histological. This approach to defining remission has important implications for treatment strategies, patient outcomes, and healthcare resource utilization.

This project aims to explore the perspectives of patients and clinicians on the critical concept of remission In IBD and help guide clinicians on how best to support patients to achieve this outcome.
