Innovative research

The School of Medicine and Psychology is pioneering novel transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary research, advancing knowledge to create both social and health impact. The School of Medicine and Psychology stands at the forefront of medical and psychology research, dedicated to pioneering advances that shape the fields of health care, societal understanding, and cognitive science. We focus our investigations around three core themes: Society, Culture and Health; Therapeutics, Diagnostics, and Clinical Care; and Mental Processes, Brain, and Vision.

At the School of Medicine and Psychology, our research themes are not isolated disciplines, but instead,  intersect and interact in multiple ways, reflecting the complexity of societies, human health, and disease. Our integrated approach not only fosters collaboration across different disciplines but also ensures that our research has a broad impact, addressing the urgent health challenges of our times. Through our commitment to excellence and innovation, we continue to contribute valuable insights to the fields of medicine, psychology, and health, training the next generation of leaders and making a significant difference in the lives of individuals and communities worldwide.

Our research priorities inform health care practice and transform lives. We conduct collaborative, courageous, translational research that challenges assumptions and transcends disciplinary boundaries.
