About

Nutritional literacy is important for gastroenterology patients, as dietary choices impact gastrointestinal health, symptom management, and treatment efficacy. Many gastrointestinal disorders require specific dietary modifications, yet the current state of nutritional literacy among these patients remains poorly understood.

This project aims to assess nutritional literacy levels in a cohort of gastroenterology patients. Using validated nutritional literacy tools, we will evaluate patients' understanding of diet-related aspects of their conditions, their ability to interpret nutritional information, and their capacity to make informed dietary choices.

The research will identify knowledge gaps, misconceptions, and barriers to nutritional understanding across gastrointestinal disorders. Findings from this study will provide insights into the current state of nutritional literacy among gastroenterology patients, informing future educational strategies and highlighting areas where targeted support is most needed to enhance patient care and outcomes.
