About

Human empathy encompasses the capacity to take the perspective of another person to understand their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, as well as to feel for and care about others. This project has two main aims. The first is to develop new and improved methods for measuring a person’s tendency and capacity to engage in the different components of empathy. The second is to test some innovative programs to produce enduring improvements in people’s tendency and capacity to engage in empathy. We anticipate that this work will contribute to making people happier, kinder, and more connected with those around them.
