Emotional health and regulation play a critical role in physical well-being, as highlighted by the American Heart Association Mind-Heart-Body Connection statement. This project aims to improve understanding of the relationship between emotions and heart health and investigate the ability of emotion regulation interventions to improve cardiac functioning and recovery. This research program is interested in questions like: What is the relationship between emotion regulation and cardiac health? Can brief emotion regulation interventions improve recovery after cardiac events? Who and what do different emotion regulation strategies help?
