Dr Daniel Gilbourd completed his medical degree at The University of NSW and completed a Masters of Surgery at The University of Sydney with a thesis on Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy. He undertook specialty training in Urology throughout NSW to become a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (Urology). He completed an Advanced Fellowship year in Endourology at Monash Health in Melbourne.
He is involved in managing the research activities of the Urology unit at The Canberra Hospital and is an ACT Clinical Trials Co-ordinator network member.
He has an interest in Endourologic Surgery including treatment of bladder outlet obstruction and lower urinary tract symptoms, and urinary tract stones including complex anatomy and staghorn calculi. Minimally Invasive Surgery (Laparoscopic or Robotic) including radical and partial nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, and radical prostatectomy. Treatment of voiding dysfunction including idiopathic and neurogenic detrusor overactivity, and intravesical Botox instillation.
