Before joining ANU I...
ran a research unit located in the Southern NSW Local Health District. The aim of the unit is to produce research that is informed by clinical need and, in turn, improves clinical services and outcomes for older people. The unit is reliant on external funding so getting grants has become a specialty of mine!

I did my PhD in Clinical Psychology at ANU over a decade ago so this feels a little like coming home. I was excited by the opportunity to support great researchers and use the skills I have learnt through successfully chasing soft funding over the last decade.
My role is…
developing and implementing strategies to support research within the School of Medicine and Psychology. A particular focus is on supporting researchers to improve their grant success rates, through direct support and training, identifying potential collaborations, planning for funding cycles and applications, and mobilising support from others.
I'm looking forward to...
seeing great research projects develop from a vague idea to life-changing research that has the potential to, directly or indirectly, improve health and well-being.
If I could live anywhere in the world for a year, it would be...
I have been to Berlin quite a few times and it is one place I could see myself never tiring of. No matter what time of day or night, there is always something different to do. Plus, my son is a history buff so I think he would really enjoy a year in Berlin and I would love seeing that joy in him.
When I'm not working, you'll find me...
trying to tame my out of control and way too healthy garden, wrangling my (usually in control) two kids, going for bushwalks with the family and, when I can find the time, reading a good book.
