Description
Presentation: Navigating the Australian Regulatory Landscape AND Keeping Well
Abstract: Exposure to regulation is very common in Australia – referrals to AHPRA, PSR and Medicare are 7,500 practitioners annually representing up to 7% of all practitioners. For many it is a painful and challenging experience, one of the worst of their professional lives. What is the landscape of regulation in Australia and why is it essential? How do we maintain the highest standards of practice, protect the community and still protect each other? Antonio has spent decades in both regulation, currently as Director of PSR, clinical practice, and doctors’ health and wellbeing, and has for many years educated ANU students and graduates on self-care and ethics. The presentation will map out the Australian landscape with a focus on education, professional standards, and caring for our colleagues.
