About

Gordon is a Specialist in Aerospace Medicine and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Aerospace Medicine. He is co-founder and Head of Flight Medicine with Human Aerospace Pty Ltd, and has also had a long-standing role with the RAAF Institute of Aviation Medicine, most recently as Head of Aerospace medicine Training, having accrued 26 years of experience with humans in the high-performance environment of military flying.  Gordon was Space Medicine and Life Sciences Lead in the Office of the Chief Technology Officer on secondment from RAAF at the Australian Space Agency 2020 - 2021.  Gordon has previously worked in aeromedical certification with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and as a civilian aviation medical examiner and has himself previously flown as a private pilot. He has held a clinical academic appointment at the University of Adelaide for many years contributing to medical student education. He has established Space Medicine training programs for the Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine and the University of Tasmania as part of the Healthcare of Remote and Extreme Environments Program. He holds multiple Fellowships of professional aerospace organisations in Australia and internationally including the Aerospace Medical Association, the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine, the Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine, and the Royal Aeronautical Society.  In 2015 he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for contributions to aerospace medicine.
