Dr Chi-Hung (Nelson) Kuo

About
Dr Chih-Hung (Nelson) Kuo is a specialist cataract, glaucoma, eyelids and tear duct surgeon. He also treats conditions affecting the macula such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.
Dr Kuo studied medicine at the University of New South Wales and completed his prevocational training at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. He began his ophthalmology training at the Sydney Eye Hospital. He spent two further fellowship years at the Concord Repatriation Hospital in Sydney and Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in the United Kingdom, sub-specialising in complex glaucoma and oculoplastic. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).
After his fellowships, Dr Kuo worked as a consultant ophthalmologist at tertiary public hospitals in Brisbane providing public cataract, glaucoma and oculoplastic services.
Dr Kuo is appointed by the Canberra Health Service to provide public cataract and glaucoma surgery services, supervising and training the next generation of ophthalmologists. He is also appointed as an examiner for RANZCO Advanced Clinical Examination (RACE).
He has published many articles in peer-review journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet.
Dr Kuo is the ACT representative for the Glaucoma Australia Ophthalmology Committee.
