The 2020 Vice Chanellor's Awards took to the Zoom stage with bow-ties and a jovial MC on Wednesday, 17 November.

The ANU Medical School congratulates all winners and is proud to announce those from the Medical School:

  • Associate Professor Dipti Talaulikar, clinician and teacher who received the VC Award for Educational Excellence.
  • Associate Professor Sanjaya Senanayake and Professor Peter Collignon AM, infectious diseases experts and academics awarded the VC Award for Impact and Engagement.

Associate Professor Dipti Talaulikar, is a clinician who is passionately committed to evidence-based, student focused teaching design and inclusive teaching practices. In the last five years, she has led an award-winning redesign of one of the seven building blocks of student education within the ANU Medical School. She has transformed the bedside teaching program at Canberra Hospital into one that receives outstanding student ratings, and her numerous educational innovations have been widely incorporated by her peers. As a mentor, Dipti aims to develop well rounded future doctors, and she mentors students and peers with a focus on equity and access for all.

Associate Professor Sanjaya Senanayake and Professor Peter Collignon have been trusted advisors to the media and the general public during COVID-19. They have been exemplary models of the expertise that ANU employs and is able to bring to a global crisis.
