A look back at ANU Med Revue 2018
This year, the ANU Med Revue cast and crew yet again treated us to a stellar performance.
The theatre show, which is celebrating its twelfth year, demonstrated the numerous other talents of our medical students such as directing, script writing, costume and set design, acting and music.
The introduction to the show displayed the video-mastery of Michael Li and Shiva Prakash and was featured in both the Canberra Times and Riotact. A futuristic Canberra was depicted in Scalpel Runner, the talented duo's brilliant take on cult classic, Bladerunner.
Some of the others videos throughout the show had both serious and hilarious tones to them:
- Real life OSCEs (hilarious view of practical OSCEs),
- EBM (Professor Bowden at his best on EBM),
- The hospital song…encouraging noises about keeping going at TCH,
- And, what it might be like to be an intern.
This year, $18,000, the largest sum to date, was raised by ANU Med Revue for Companion House.
Backstage banter
"I think med revue was the main reason I decided to do medicine" - Gabriella

Friend: "How are you going?"
Me: "I'm on a surgical rotation and it’s also production week of Med Revue. I average around 2 hours of sleep per night." *drinks coffee*
Med Student: "Probably not the smartest decision to do Med Revue this year…"
Me: "NO REGRETS. If I had to make the choice again, I would gladly choose Med Revue! Also, PLEASE BUY TICKETS!"
...
PBL Facilitator: "I don't know why you guys are doing medicine" (referring to med revue cast)
Me: "...because... We were good?"
PBL Facilitator: "Yes Yes Yes!"
...
"Oh sweet heavens, what is this magical thing called "sleep"?!"
