Professor Frank Bowden ANU Medical School, is an infectious diseases physician at the Canberra Hospital, and author of the newly released book: Infectious - a doctor's eye-opening insights into contagious diseases, published by NewSouth. His first book, Gone Viral was published by UNSW Press in 2011.  Frank will talk about the rise and fall of infectious diseases in the 20th century, the new age of antiviral treatment in the 21st century and the looming threat of a world without effective antibiotics. The Lecture will be followed by light refreshments, and Professor Bowden's book Infectious will be available for sale and signing.
