A large majority of COVID-19 patients are asymptomatic and can easily be monitored and managed in home care settings. However, it important to keep in mind that patients can deteriorate rapidly. It is therefore important to have systems in place to monitor patients closely, especially those with high risk features, before recommending home care. A pragmatic evaluation of risks and benefits can help in reducing hospital burden without increasing risks to COVID patients.
