Description

While Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) remains the gold standard for treating PTSD, up to half of individuals do not experience adequate relief. Why is that and what can be done?

Join Professor Richard Bryant for a compelling and thought-provoking presentation that explores the critical next steps in treating PTSD.

His talk will delve into the complex mechanisms that sustain PTSD symptoms, highlighting how a deeper understanding of these processes can lead to more effective, personalised interventions.

Key topics will include:

  • Why some individuals don’t respond to standard CBT.
  • The role of physical exercise and memory retrieval training in enhancing outcomes.
  • The biological, cognitive, emotional, and social factors that influence treatment response.
  • A call for individualised, mechanism-focused care to meet the diverse needs of those living with PTSD.

Whether you're a clinician, researcher, student, or simply interested in mental health innovation, this is a lecture you won’t want to miss.
